Hi Lori....I'm going through radiation now. I have 8 more to go! My skin is red but it hasn't broken open yet. My radiation oncologist gave me Aquaphor to use first. If it gets worse they'll prescribe Silver sulfadiazine. But I would go by what your Oncologist recommends. Every dr is different. I know it hurts...I'm right there with ya. How many do you have left to go?

I'm only done with 13 out of 35. It's not bad yet, but I am fair skinned and burn easily. My Onc wasn't in today, so I'll ask him tomorrow what he recommends. Thanks for the info.

Wow Lori, you don't have much left at all! I'm so happy for you. Thanks for the kind thoughts. Yes, eight more. I'll have to wait three months after my last radiation to get reconstruction. I go next week for a bone scan. Then my Onc is going to...

I go next week for a bone scan. Then my Onc is going to put me on a hormone blocker. I'm getting there. It's been a long road...hasn't it? We're doing it!

I would talk to your radiation oncologist about wound care. I have heard of something called SIlver Sulfadiazine and domeboro (this purchased from Walgreen's) If the area is large and severe, ask about hyperbariac oxygen chamber treatments. It super saturates your body with oxygen and speeds healing! It is used for severe burns... Many healing hugs to you, Lori. Take care, Sharon

I used 100% aloe from day one, but also other creams they have me. I used aquaphor at night when things got worse (toward the end) but wear an old t shirt you are okay to part with after bc it'll be ruined! And wear it inside out so the seams don't irritate your skin. I have fair skin and docs were impressed with how well my skin held up, considering

Lori, my radiation oncologist gave me a tube of RadiaPlex gel which is specifically for skin following radiation. I put on a pea size amount three times a day to my breast. My skin is soft and smooth, although still remains a little red and blotchy :/ Hope this helps! Good luck to you!

I got rashes from everything until my radiology onc nurse gave me some samples of Lindi Skin soothing balm. It saved me!! I still use some the products.
