In late January 2019 I found a lump in my breast. I had imaging done that confirmed a tumor in my breast and two tumors in my lymph nodes that were highly suspicious of malignancy. In February 2019 I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma stage 2b by my surgeon after he preformed my first biopsy. After my first surgery in April I was bumped to stage 3. I had an additional tumor found during imagery before surgery and I had 18 positive lymph nodes removed during surgery. I have had 2 more surgeries.....port and reconstruction, 16 chemotherapy treatments and 25 radiation treatments. I just finished my radiation treatments in late January and I am now taking Anastrozole for the next 10 years.
I have been writing a blog about my journey... www.marystaplesmills.com
