It depends on the type and stage of the breast cancer. We are all different as far as treatment and length of time it takes. Mine took 4 months from start to finish but I was placed on 5 years of hormone treatment. Sharon

Hmmm - I've been in treatment for a year now and still have a few months to go. Then maybe 5 years of hormones. Stage 3, grade 3b, her 2 've. Stay strong!

It's impossible to say. It depends on the findings of the pathologist's report. Newest treatment protocols depend on the individual cells themselves. It is impossible to make a guess because we aren't oncologists or surgeons, we only have our personal experiences to go by. Those experiences and treatments were decisions made by ourselves in conjunction with pathologists findings, oncologists, surgeons, and other caregivers. No longer do we have the shotgun approach to breast cancer treatments. Lots of women have completed treatment and reconstruction within a year. Some women continue with hormonal treatment for at least 5 years. This consists of taking a hormone blocking drug each day. I was done with my surgery, and chemo. within 4 months. I am taking a hormone blocking drug and am in my 5th year.
If your question is regarding yourself, your oncologist is your best source of information. Take care, Sharon
