My name is Sue. I am forty something. My story begins in December of 2011. I found the lump in my left breast. I called my Doctor right away. I met with my surgeon on January 5. I had my first biopsy on January 18 and was diagnosed a few days later with IDC. I am er pr positive and her 2 negative.
You experience such a range of emotions when you initially find out. I remember finding out someone has cancer. You say oh that's so sad. I had no idea. Fear, guilt, anger, depression are just a few to start with. I was in disbelief for a week or so after I found out. I then changed my attitude. I know I have a fight a head of me. This to shall pass. I have already learned lessons in patience where I had none before.
My surgeon did a lumpectomy on 2/9. I will undergo a bilateral mastectomy on 2/23 as I still don't have clean margins and my sentinel was positive. I feel truly lucky that this invader was found and has not spread. My journey through this is just starting. I have wonderful husband, family and friends. I am so thankful for all the blessings I have. My battle begins.
